I’m sure most have heard of Thrive by now. I’ve been very skeptical about it and it’s taken months but I finally decided to try it. Here’s an honest opinion from someone who isn’t a promoter…
It’s been over a week and I feel great, better than I expected. I have seen an increase in my energy level which has had a great effect on my to-do list:) I work two jobs and serve on City Council. I constantly have projects going on in my position as President of a local service club. Even with all those things going on I still have enough energy in the evening to work on other projects at home. Of course, staying that busy can be very stressful. The difference I have seen in my stress level and mood during stressful situations was not a benefit I was expecting but it’s been one of the best! Overall, I am very happy with my results so far with Thrive.
FYI – I was already off coffee for a few months so I don’t have the experience to share about how giving that up goes.
The Morning Ritual
It’s easy to do and kinda fun!
The capsules: This is the first thing you do as soon as you wake up in the morning. I can feel a difference in energy levels quickly (10-15 minutes) after taking them. I take both capsules and the directions say you don’t have to take them with food. This is helpful to me since I have a hard time eating breakfast first thing in the morning. I am the type to feel sick after taking anything without food and I was totally fine. If you are sensitive to caffeine maybe trying taking one at first.
The shake: You have your shake 40 minutes after you take the capsules. I am happy to report that it actually tastes good! I look forward to it for breakfast. You can put it in a shaker with water or milk. I prefer throwing it in my NutriBullet with one cup of unsweetened almond milk (only 30 calories per serving), frozen fruit and ice. It’s filling and I’m not starving at lunch. This helps me eat a healthier and lighter lunch. Here are a few of the great combinations I have tried:
Berry Blend (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, banana)
Exotic Superfood Mix (dragon fruit, pineapple, peaches)
Dragon Fruit was great in all of these! I also tried dragon fruit, blackberries, banana, and strawberries. If you buy fresh dragon fruit I would cube it and freeze for easy use in the morning!
The patch: This is the last part of the process and I slap mine on before running out the door! To be honest, I like it and I don’t know why!! Not sure if this is a way to get people to talk to you about it or what…I don’t feel a huge difference with this but it might be because it’s the last thing you use and the other products are already working. Apparently, it regulates the vitamins and other nutrients through your body in a 24-hour cycle. The most controversy around Thrive is in the patch and what it is actually used for, weight loss and energy or brand building. Either way, it definitely sparks conversation and makes the whole process a little more interesting.
If you don’t have an awesome blender to make the shakes with I strongly suggest a NutriBullet! These bad boys really get the job done when it comes to crushing ice!
I went online and googled reviews on Thrive and started reading just to see what people are saying. Honestly…I think people assume or just want to say it’s a scheme. There wasn’t one bad review I read where the person said they actually tried the product. They basically just mentioned comments they read on the internet from other people. Reading other opinions is important but an honest review comes from personal experience for the purpose of informing. If it’s a good product you can accomplish this and it will sell itself.
One review stated that the directions can “lead to confusion”. I’m honestly not sure how. It’s a very simple process. It had incorrect information like that the shake packet apparently contains enough powder for two shakes and the capsules must be taken with food. It states specifically on the shake package that it is for one shake. The capsules state “Take one or two capsules on an empty stomach or in between meals”.
One stated that the amount of caffeine you are taking in when you combine all three products could have a negative effect if you are sensitive to caffeine. Another negative review went over the ingredients and didn’t say they were bad but that it was questionable that they work. Well, they are working for me. They also compared Thrive to other weight loss/lifestyle fads one by one and said they would generally not choose Thrive over any of them mentioned: ItWorks, Shakeology, Advocare, Plexus Slim, Trim Down Club. I’ve tried most of these and honestly, you should just go with what works for you. Do the research, make sure what you are putting in your body isn’t toxic and do what works for YOU!
For me, I think I’m going to stick with Thrive because I like it and I haven’t seen anything yet that gives me a reason to think I shouldn’t be doing it. It seems like reviewer’s opinions lean towards, “It’s not bad and has some good qualities but it’s stupid and you’re getting ripped off.” That about sums up the reviews I read. They think the patch is stupid and the whole thing is too expensive. Since this is all opinion you are the only one who knows the value it has to you and whether it’s worth the cost.
